Re-bar was genuinely unlike anywhere else in Seattle — a performance space, bar, and nightclub on Howell Street that hosted drag, live music, theater, and dance nights with equal commitment. It hosted Nirvana's Nevermind release party. It launched Dina Martina's career. It was a cultural anchor for Seattle's queer community and arts scene for over three decades, and a safe space that took that responsibility seriously. When Re-bar closed permanently in 2020 due to the pandemic and rising property costs, Seattle lost something that can't be replicated by anything shinier or newer.
A Pickled Eggs Co tribute to Re-bar, Seattle's legendary closed arts and nightlife institution. Graphic t-shirt, classic fit.
