The Tasty was a lunch counter on the corner of Brattle and JFK in Harvard Square that operated for over sixty years before closing in 1997. It sat 22 people. It was open until 4am. It served students, professors, cab drivers, and everyone in between on equal terms, which is rarer than it sounds in Harvard Square. When it closed, the Globe covered it like a death in the family, because that's more or less what it was. A CVS opened in the space. Progress.
