The Jade Pagoda sat on Broadway in Capitol Hill for decades — a proper dive, dark and unpretentious, with cheap drinks and the kind of crowd that didn't need to explain itself. It was a gay bar before Capitol Hill was known for it, a neighborhood bar before the neighborhood got expensive, and a late-night institution until it quietly disappeared.
