The Red Door in Fremont was a neighborhood pub that understood its assignment completely. Good beer, comfortable room, the right amount of noise, and a crowd that was happy to be exactly where it was. Fremont was Seattle's weird, self-declared independent republic of a neighborhood, and the Red Door fit it perfectly. When it closed it took a piece of Fremont's particular personality with it.
